Hapjeong, next door to Hongdae, is kind of like Hongdae’s older, more mature sister. There are wine and craft beer bars instead of cocktails and clubs, instead of kitschy micro-shops selling clothes and makeup, there are boutiques and pricey drip coffee.
Still the Hongdae’s artistic inclinations can be found all over Hapjeong- from old school Korean rock music advertisements-
to public art displays-
to fanciful interior design-
and even sculpture.
One of my favorite spots in Hapjeong is GREEKYogurt (Greeky for short). located in the Mecenatopolis mall. Their yogurt is fantastic and the toppings are diverse and delicious, but the decor is the real star (both of the “interior design” photos above are from Greeky). Plus their slogan is hilarious.
I guess so.
