North Seoul Tower Touring

My mom and brother came to visit last week, so I got to do some touristy things that I had been putting off, namely Seoul’s main tourist attraction: North Seoul Tower.

The tower’s main draw is its incredible view of Seoul. Unfortunately, the day we went was a particularly dusty day (“yellow dust” blows over from China every year around this time), so our views were somewhat lackluster. But we still had fun. Mom was definitely the most excited person to ever visit North Seoul Tower.

The tower, like so, so many things in Korea, is marketed as a romantic date stop. There is a place to take a “kissing picture” in front of the view, an area to write a letter to your crush, and these odd “love lock trees”.

uhhh...

uhhh…

The trees, as you can see, are made up of thousands of locks, which are conveniently for sale in the gift shop (you can bring your own too, if you are so inclined). Like many of the romantic spots in Seoul, North Seoul Tower is equal parts cheesy and sweet. With a fantastic view.
